Yes …six and a half million people! …that's how many visitors have been to the Royal Welsh Show since it moved permanently to Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, in 1963, making the show the number one attraction of its kind in Wales and beyond!
The last 17 shows have each drawn more than 200,000 visitors, including a record 232,814 in 1995. The Royal Welsh record eclipses attendances at other agricultural shows throughout Britain.

The Royal Welsh showground is one of the finest in the world. Located in the heart of beautiful countryside, this shop window for Welsh farming and food production represents an £8.5m investment, including a £2.3m state of the art exhibition centre where visitors can view farm livestock in comfort and safety. Everything at the Royal Welsh Show is designed to cater for visitors. There is a covered grandstand for almost 4000 people, restaurants and bars, leisure areas, an amazing variety of exhibitions, and a 12 hour programme of entertainment. Once inside the showground you can participate in an unforgettable day of continuous leisure and pleasure.
Agriculture
If your interest is agriculture and you want to see a magnificent display of some of the nation's pedigree and commercial livestock, you have the spectacle of 8000 farm animals competing for the highest honours in the show ring, the largest display of sheep breeds anywhere in the world and the incomparable pageant of Welsh ponies and cobs which always attracts a global audience.
You can learn all about the agricultural and ancillary industries of Wales - how the land is used, grass and crops, forestry and timber production, farm machinery, vehicles and equipment, shearing, sheepdogs, conservation and the environment, education, tourism, country pursuits, rural sports, flowers, fruit and vegetables, beekeeping, garden design, poultry, pets farriery, ornamental ironwork and all the many other facets of farming and the countryside.
Food and drink
...and if food and drink are among your pleasures then visit the Royal Welsh Food Hall. There you can see and sample some of the tastes of Wales - Welsh meats, dairy products including many famous Welsh cheeses, wines, delicacies, fruits, preserves, honey and other products of the land and sea. All are available at the Royal Welsh Show.
Shops and tradestands
There are lots of tempting products to purchase from among the 1000 shops and tradestands lining the avenues on the showground - handicrafts, jewellery, antiques, fine arts, and goods of every description from clothing to cars, or wheelbarrows to wellington boots.
The Show, established in 1904, provides an especially warm and hospitable welcome at its International Pavilion for visitors from around the world.
