A total of 23,318 visitors attended the 2008 Royal Welsh Smallholder and Garden Festival on the 17th and 18th May, confirming once again the popularity of the event as a major attraction in Wales.

This was the eighth Festival to be staged by the RWAS on the Royal Welsh Showground in the picturesque heart of Mid Wales. “We have had numerous positive comments from visitors who praised the organisation of the Festival and the variety of attractions on show,” said RWAS Company Secretary, Barrie Jones. “The Festival ran smoothly, was enjoyed by everyone and was again highly successful.”

The Festival enjoys a reputation of having a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, creating something very different in concept to the Royal Welsh Show in July.
Whether you were able to attend, or unfortunately missed this wonderful weekend which had something for all, please note that next year’s Festival will be held on May 16 and 17 2009.

Other than Guide Dogs, visitors are encouraged not to bring their dogs to the Smallholder & Garden Festival, but if it is essential to do so dogs must be kept on a lead the whole time and are restricted from entering the buildings. Please do not leave dogs in cars.
